KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 — Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim is facing the brunt of a budding backlash against keeping Elizabeth Wong in the state government despite the circulation of intimate photographs of her.
Distancing himself from the party's decision, Kulim MP Zulkfili Noordin said it reflected Selangor's disrespect to Wong's offer to resign from her executive council post and Bukit Lanjan seat.
"The decision by the mentri besar and Selangor government will add pressure on Eli. It is certain that there are parties who will take the opportunity to put pressure on Eli," Zulkifli wrote in his weblog on Wednesday, referring to Wong by her popular nickname.
Khalid on Wednesday announced that Selangor had rejected Wong's resignation from the Bukit Lanjan seat and the state executive council, two months after she tearfully left when the intimate pictures surfaced.
Zulkifli is no stranger himself to controversy after there was pressure for him to be dropped from PKR for barging into an interfaith forum organised by the Bar Council last year. But PKR has not taken any action against him.
"Eli chose to resign and had in fact resigned. That is her personal right. I am confident Eli knows and understands the problem she faces," he wrote in the post.
He criticised Khalid for basing his decision on the police failure to complete their investigations when "it is common knowledge that it had stalled because of the lack of cooperation from a suspect who has gone missing".
“My sympathies lie with Wong and I was the first to come out to defend her and to call for action against those who infringed on her personal privacy.”
However, he said sympathy for her and forcing her to continue were two separate issues.
“I hope the mentri besar and his administration will reconsider the decision,” said Zulkifli.

Haha, Zul. I question your sincerity about yr sympathy. Khalid, pl do not waste time on Zul. Eli Wong has the support of every fair and right minded Rakyat. She is not under any pressure except coming from Zul or the Toyol fella. She loves her job and aspire to build the party and nation. She has all the capabilities and characteristics of a shining star politician. She is honourable and respectable and did no wrong, just like Teresa Kok. BN/UMNO's desperate ways to destroy PKR will not succeed as we Rakyat know what is happening!!!

Eli has done no wrong from EVERY ANGLE you look at:
1) She was filmed in her own bedroom, not in a hotel. (Her privacy was invaded)
2) She is not married, so she did not betray any husband.(If she did do it)
3) The boyfriend is not a married man.
4) She is not an Islam so didn't sin against Allah. (If she did do it)
The only one guilty would be the boyfriend who took the photo, who is an Islam.
So the punishment should be on him.
You Zul are not only a hypocrite but also a racist!!!

Never heard you raising you voice against Ali Rustam for corruption - yang UMNO sah kan. What about Najib, KJ ? And if you are talking about sex scandal - the Altantuya case involved sex which Baginda admitted in court. Also Bala exposed anal sex in this scandal. Get your big bike into the syariah court and get the syariah people moving - the right place to complain.
Eli's case involved an intrusion into the room privacy and it involved a non Muslim. Get the police to catch her Muslim/Malay boyfriend.

This type of characters are causing PKR to perform badly compare to PAS and DAP.
Anwar must demand that he resign from Kulim MP. Rakyat will be gald for by-election to rid a racist rep, and will be happy to spend some tax dollar for the purpose.
Zul the rubbish, come GE13, you will be out if not any time earlier. Stand as an independent to test your popularity again in Kulim.
