KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 — In an immediate reaction to the highly-explosive constitutional battle in Ipoh this morning between the ousted Pakatan Rakyat government and its rival Barisan Nasional (BN), Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said a legal assembly sitting can only be called by a “legitimate speaker.”
“For us, the legitimate speaker is the speaker elected by the State Legislative Assembly legally and not an illegally elected speaker from the floor,” the PKR adviser told reporters here after the high court postponed fixing a date for his Sodomy II trial to start.
